I’ve been scrapping photos from a mini break in Venice we took to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in 2008. Such fun to re-live the holiday!
But, here’s the story:
We were due to fly out on the Sunday, our anniversary being on the Tuesday. On the Friday evening we were walking the dog and chatting about what we would do when we were in Venice, when I suddenly said, “Wouldn’t it be funny if my passport was out of date?”
Gulp! Guess what? Yes, as soon as we got home, we checked it and found it several months out of date!
This set us off into major panic mode! It soon became evident that we would have to go to London on Monday to get a passport quickly. Maurice managed to change our flights and hotel reservations to the Tuesday. So.. an unexpected trip to London! It was incredibly nerve-wracking as I was sure we’d forget something necessary for identification. But no need to worry, it all went very smoothly.
And our mini-break? It was truly wonderful! We absolutely loved Venice, no better place to spend our anniversary.

Finally, here’s my page for yesterday’s crop. Our theme was ‘soft’, and I couldn’t resist these photos of Nicholas way back in 1991 jumping on our bed! I’m happy to say this LO was voted everyone’s favourite, woohoo!

Eeeek! You must have had a nagging suspicion somewhere in your subconscious! Glad it all ended well after the panic. And what a sweet and happy photo: lovely page!
Thank goodness you made that chance remark and were able to change the date of travel etc. Your pages are gorgeous; I love the colour scheme.
I've never been to Venice, but would love to do so....DD discovered she had lost her passport the day before we were heading (with four of her friends) to Disneyland Paris, and she has the staff at the Glasgow Passport Office to thank for us actually getting there as planned!

Gosh, what a heart stopping moment! That's the stuff of family legend, that is. But I'm, so glad that you got there and had a lovely time and have the layouts to prove it.

So glad you weren't on the way to the airport when you suddenly thought of that! Glad you got everything sorted and had a wonderful time. Sweet page with such a happy little jumper too.

What a good job that you checked the passport and got it sorted before it was too late :) I love your Venice LO's they have a really Italian oldy worldy feel too them :)
